What do you call two single American women in their fifties traveling across the pond? The answer:  2oldchicksdoeurope!  I’m Linda – a mother, grandmother, writer, business manager, first-time blogger and one of the two chicks.  My college friend, Paula – an animal lover, mother of three cats, avid traveler and all-around entertaining person – is the other.  It was Paula who brilliantly came up with the name of this blog after a couple glasses of wine (and possibly a Patron margarita or two, but who’s counting).

When we began planning our trip to Ireland and England several months ago, I thought it might be a good idea to write about it from a female perspective.  Having read Rick Steves’ books and watched hours of Anthony Bourdain on CNN, I wanted our blog to focus on the light-hearted side of traveling.  After all, as Cyndi Lauper knows, regardless of age, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun!”
